FEMALE INFANTICIDE:
female infanticide is intentional killing of girl babies, Because most of the parents in in India prefer male children than female.there are some villages in India they will wait till the birth if not what they expected,they just kill the babies without any guiltiness
FACTS ABOUT FEMALE INFANTICIDE:
According to UNICEF (united nations childrens fund) upto 50 million girls and womans are mixing from India's population as a system of gender discrimination in India
CENSUS REPORTS:
in most countries there are 105 females for every 100 males.
in India there are less than 93 womens for every 100 mens.
SHOCKING REPORT:
THE UNITED NATIONS SAYS THAT EVERYDAY 2000 UNBORN GIRLS ARE ABORTED IN INDIA.
CAUSES OF FEMALE INFANTICIDE:
the practice of female deselection in India is due to socioeconomic reasons
some studies in India has indicated three factors of female deselection in India
1)economic utilities
2)sociocultural utility
3)relegious function
ECONOMIC UTILITY:the factors of economic utility indicates that sons are most liked than daughter,because if son is born in a family,he can get a income by business and earn wages and give old age support to parents.upon marriages son makes a daughter-in-law an addition assistance to household work and an economic reward as dowry payments.SONS ARE LOOKED LIKE A TYPE OF INSURANCE. as considered as daughter makes a marriage as economic penalty to parents.
The final factor of female deselection as consider from hindu tradition sons can handle funeral pyre for their late parents.
SHOCKING:
DHALBURG-"WHERE KILLING GIRL BABIES IS NOT A BIG SIN".
According to census report, we had 972 females for every 1000 males but is declined now......
IN TAMIL NADU:
Nearly 300 poor hamlets of the usilampatti area as many as 196 girl died ynder suspicious circumstances in 1993.
KILLING WAY:
Some were fed dry,
unhulled rice(nel in tamil) that will punctured their wind pipes.
some made to swallow some powdered fertilizers.
others were made smothered with wet towel.
Allowed to starve death.
A study found that "FEMALE INFANTICIDE IS RAMPANT".though only hindus among christian or muslim of the 1250 families covered by the study 740 had only one girl child and 249 agreed that they killed their unwanted girl child more than 213 of the families had more than one male child.
so we should have girls equal to boys.
